May Flowers, Brighter Smiles
So, they say April showers, bring May flowers. I’m sure everyone in Michigan is looking forward to some nicer weather. Lots of weddings or bridals showers coming Now is the time to “whiten” up your smile! Professional in-office whitening is a safe, effective, and fast cosmetic dental procedure that uses high concentration peroxide gels (25–40%) to brighten teeth by several shades in one 30–90-minute session. It is performed by dental professionals who protect gum tissue during the application, offering immediate results, reduced sensitivity, and better, longer-lasting outcomes compared to at-home kits. We have two different kinds of ways to bleach your teeth at our office. We can take impressions of your mouth and make a “bleaching tray” to just fit your teeth. Then you would put a few drops of bleaching gel in the trays and wear them for 30 minutes, depending on your sensitivity level. Our bleaching gel is NU Radiance Classic and is 30% carbamide peroxide. It is very effective and you would only need to do this a few times per week. Some people become sensitive when using this so this is why every day is not the best thing to do. It’s always nice to bleach right after a fresh cleaning to get the maximum brightness. Another way we bleach at our office is called KOR whitening. This is a more intense way of bleaching. We make trays in our office and do some professional whitening in office as well as some take home whitening.
