Something New in Dentistry
How many times have you had an exam and the doctor says, “Looks great, no cavities, but there are a few spots that we are going to watch. It hasn’t broken through the enamel yet so just floss well and we will keep an eye on it.”? As a hygienist, I’ve heard this several times. Well now there is a non-invasive, drill-free dental treatment designed to reverse early-stage tooth decay and white spot lesions by promoting natural enamel remineralization. It’s called Curodont Repair. It uses a bioactive, peptide-based gel to penetrate teeth, attracting calcium and phosphate to regenerate enamel from inside out. It is applied directly to early, shallow cavities, forming a scaffold that seals the lesion and enables mineral infiltration. Curodont eliminates the need for drilling, filling, or anesthesia in suitable cases, preserving natural tooth structure. It can be used for smooth surfaces, between teeth and to treat white spots often seen after orthodontic treatment. A specialized sponge applicator is used, and the patient cannot eat or drink for 30 minutes afterward. It is effective for patients of all ages, does not stain, and is often considered a preventative approach to avoid traditional fillings. If you have a few areas of concern or what we call “watches” this might be perfect for you. We are still considering this for our office so at your next appointment please inquire about this new product called Curodont. Our team of dentists are excited to offer this cutting-edge treatment and help you maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.
