Getting Ready for the School Year
I hope everyone is having an amazing summer! It was a slow start, but the weather has been beautiful. There are so many things families like to get done before another school year starts — taking care of dental and eye exams are just a few of the things to check off the list.
If anyone has a little one starting kindergarten, it’s the law now to have your child complete a dental exam. A fast, easy dental screening is required for kindergarteners: Michigan law requires all children entering kindergarten to have an oral health assessment. Screenings can be performed by your family dentist, or for free at local health departments and schools. The results must be submitted on the official state evaluation form.
Here’s the link to the form in case anyone has a hard time finding it — just bring it to us and we can fill it out before your child starts kindergarten: Michigan Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment form.
Summers at Summit Family Dental get very busy, so plan accordingly — don’t wait until late August to give us a call for an appointment. Give us a call today so we can take care of your little one. Have a great rest of the summer!

Meet Leanna
Hi, I’m Leanna! I currently work the front desk at Summit Family Dental, as well as a retail job on the side. In my front desk role, I verify insurance, book appointments, take calls, and more.
My future goals in life are to graduate from school as a Radiology Technician and start a family. Some of my favorite things to do are working out, reading, and hanging out with my friends.
